How these numbers are produced
- Source
- The public WordPress.org plugin directory. We mirror it on a schedule; nothing here comes from a private feed or from any WordPress site.
- Freshness
- Counts and install figures refresh with the daily directory sync. The 24-hour movement column is the delta recorded between the two most recent syncs.
- Install tiers
- WordPress.org publishes active installs as a bucketed range, not an exact number. Tier boundaries here follow those buckets, which is why a plugin's figure moves in steps.
- Scope
- The four counters and the distribution bar cover every active plugin we index. Everything else — the health meter, movement breakdown, reach totals and the three tables — is computed from the 200 most-installed plugins, so read those as leaders rather than directory-wide totals.
- The health score
- The share of the 200 most-installed plugins whose downloads are still growing week over week. It reads download momentum rather than rank movement on purpose: plugins at the top of the directory rarely change position, so a rank-based score would sit at its neutral midpoint permanently and tell you nothing.
